Important Note - Visa Control at Airports in Turkey
After disembarking the aircraft on arrival you will need to first purchase an Entry Visa.
This will cost £10.00 Sterling (please note that this MUST be a clean £10.00 note per person,
don't give 2 x £5.00). Scottish Pounds and Irish Punts are not accepted.
Non-British Citizen Passport holders may require Visas to enter countries which are signatories
to the Schengen Agreement and contact should be made with the appropriate Consulate or
Embassy for clarification before travelling to Turkey.
The Visa is valid for 3 months. You can then proceed to Passport control.
Please note: Passport and Visa regulations can change and you should therefore check with
your flight booking agent or the relevant Embassy well in advance of travel.
It is your responsibility to be in possession of a valid Passport and, if appropriate, a Visa.
It can often take some time to obtain a Visa, so you are advised to apply in plenty of time.
We cannot accept any responsibility for customers who do not possess the correct documents.
Turkish Currency & Changing Money
As of the 1st January, 2005 the currency in Turkey is the New Turkish Lira (NTL).
Exchange rate is around 2.4 (NTL) to £1.00 Sterling, obviously this changes from day to day.
If you take Sterling with you as well as travellers cheques, this can be also changed at most
hotels, shops or even bars in the local Bay. The exchange rate tends not to vary a great amount.
If you need to use 'plastic', then you will have to change this in the larger towns like Kemer,
Antalya or Kumluca.
Medical & Hospital Information
In the village of Adrasan there is a Chemist shop with a Doctor next door.
Just outside the village is a small Cottage Hospital, you may get transferred there on the referral
of the Doctor if necessary.
In Kemer is the Kemer Life Hospital, (locals call it the American Hospital).
It is very good, English speaking and very clean. If you do need to go to any medical establishment
then you MUST take your Travel Insurance and Passport with you, and be prepared to pay, also get
receipts for any treatments so you can claim back on your Insurance.
